I'm not sure I follow the controller part. I followed the instructions here (https://github.com/petrockblog/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Control-Issues) for USB gamepads, which listed the below commands: $ /opt/retropie/emulators/RetroArch/installdir/bin/retroarch-joyconfig -a /opt/retropie/emulators/RetroArch/configs/gamepad.cfg The command executes fine, and I am able to use the tool to I'll try to jump it, see if it helps. I also have a Model 1 Genesis that is "supposedly" broken(the plastic over the power switch was not touching it, so you couldn't turn off the system). Just make sure to discharge the system first before you do this to be most effective.
